Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of WaveCanvas, available at wavecanvas.io (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Accounts

  • You must create an account to render and save videos. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

2. Subscriptions and Billing

  • WaveCanvas offers a free tier with limited renders and a Pro subscription with expanded features.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as chosen at checkout. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access to Pro features until that date.
  • Refunds for subscriptions are considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge if you believe an error has occurred.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect for their account.

3. Content You Upload

  • You retain ownership of all audio files, images, and other content you upload.
  • By uploading content, you grant WaveCanvas a limited, temporary licence to process and store that content for the purpose of generating your video.
  • Generated videos are automatically deleted 7 days after they are created. Your uploaded media assets remain stored until you delete them or delete your account. We do not access, view, or monitor your uploaded content.

4. Copyright and Music Rights

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any music, audio, or images you upload or include in your videos. Permitted uses include:

  • Your own original recordings or compositions
  • Music released under a royalty-free or Creative Commons licence that permits your intended use
  • Content for which you hold a valid synchronisation or distribution licence

Using copyrighted material without permission may result in copyright claims, demonetisation, or removal of content on platforms such as YouTube or TikTok. WaveCanvas accepts no liability for third-party copyright claims arising from content you choose to upload or publish.

5. YouTube Integration

WaveCanvas allows you to connect your YouTube channel and publish videos and Shorts directly from the platform. By using this feature you agree to the following:

  • You will only upload content for which you own or hold all necessary rights, licences, and permissions.
  • You acknowledge that uploading copyrighted music or content without permission may result in your video being removed, your channel receiving a copyright strike, or your channel being terminated by YouTube.
  • You must tick the copyright acknowledgement checkbox presented before each upload, confirming you have the right to publish the content.
  • WaveCanvas is not responsible for the content you publish to YouTube, any copyright claims made against your channel, or any actions taken by YouTube in response to your uploads.
  • Your use of the YouTube upload feature is also subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
  • You can disconnect your YouTube channel at any time from your account settings, which revokes WaveCanvas's access and removes your stored OAuth tokens.

6. AI-Powered Features

WaveCanvas uses AI to provide features such as lyric transcription and prompt generation. By using these features:

  • You consent to relevant content (e.g. audio clips or text) being sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to fulfil your request.
  • You must not use AI features to generate or process content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights.
  • AI-generated outputs (transcriptions, suggestions) may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content before publishing.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use WaveCanvas to:

  • Upload, create, or distribute illegal content
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users or third parties
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of others
